At OSB Group we conduct regular research into the behaviours driving the Private Rented Sector. This is led by our annual Landlord Leaders research which sets out to understand the changing shape of the PRS through an ESG lens to help shape our strategy, support our broker partners and deliver the support our landlord partners need.
The research, which is now in its fourth year, was the catalyst for the curation of the Landlord Leaders Community and is the culmination of polling more than one thousand landlords including in-depth interviews across the private rented sector.
Alongside the optimism toward their industry which is a trend we’ve seen year on year, we’ve learned from the research that landlords are embracing three major drivers – environmental action; societal impact and entrepreneurialism for growth – to thrive and succeed.
Importantly, the research, alongside that embrace from landlords, is a key insight that informed the decision for OSB Group to launch Rely - a brand-new dedicated buy-to-let lending brand.
Underpinning that launch, is our brand-new mortgage platform which improves on the capability that we’ve delivered previously, meaning things like the slick valuation process as well as the slick conveyancing process now greatly empowers the same legendary expertise through our people.
OSB Group is the UK’s largest independent specialist buy-to-let lender, and up until now it has operated almost with one hand tied behind its back. Now, both hands are up in front and we’re on the front foot for our customers – the ability to bring our platform to the forefront alongside our expertise is exciting.
We’ve created something that’s just not out there at the moment, and which gives intermediaries and property investors the winning edge.
That’s our brand promise, and you can compare it directly to what landlords told us through our research; we’ve channelled that entrepreneurialism for growth, and we want to win together as well as benefit the private rented sector together.
We’re achieving that through heavy-lifting milestones like delivering agreement in principle to offer in just two business hours, which is a great example of our new technology doing the ordinary, whilst freeing our people to do the extraordinary.
